COURTNEY
Courtney was born in Birmingham, Alabama. At a young age, he found a deep love and passion for creating art through both musical and visual forms. Since 5 years old, he has been singing and dancing in school productions and he even began writing his own lyrics and child-like musicals at the age of 7.
In high school, he began to rap and create more original music which led to the release of his first mixtape (ROAM) under a different stage name which started his fan base in 2013. since then, he has received formal education in vocal performance at the college at the University of Montevallo. afterwards, he continued to further his musical knowledge and training privately.
Heavily influenced by Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, Luther Vandross, and Whitney Houston, COURTNEY's artistry is unlike many other artists his age. The R&B/Hip-Hop artist has a smooth and rich voice harnessing a versatile range to his advantage. From his solid lower register to his lovely upper register and intriguing lyricism, he evokes emotion both sonically and visually aspiring to change the lives of millions by making them feel the way music used to make us feel.
On December 2022, the soon-to-be R&B sensation released his first EP of demos “Do It.” This was followed up by the project “PLAYBOY” which is available on all streaming platforms as of July 2023. this hip-hop EP features uptempo party records and spawned songs like “Get It” and “Big Racks”. His latest release “heat.wav” features the hot summer singles “Army” and “Catch Me” as well as new sultry romance tunes fit for an extra hot summer. It is now available on all streaming platforms.
currently, courtney is on the “playboy live performance tour” which features several open mics and creative events to continue to build his fanbase.
